Sponsorship PortfolioBritish Champions Day

As part of their agreement with British Champions Series, QIPCO is the title sponsor of British Champions Day, the most valuable raceday in Britain.

Held in October at Ascot, the day provides the finale to QIPCO British Champions Series. Each of the five categories of race from the series are represented: Sprint, Long Distance, Fillies and Mares, Mile and Middle Distance.

In 2015 QIPCO announced a ten-year extension to their sponsorship of British Champions Day ensuring that they remain the title sponsors until 2024.

QIPCO British Champions Day features iconic races such as the £1m plus Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over a mile and the final race in the Middle Distance category, the QIPCO Champion Stakes, worth over £1.3m and, together with the Derby at Epsom, the richest race staged in Britain.

Since its inaugural running in 2011 both the value and quality of British Champions Day have markedly increased. Under QIPCO’s sponsorship, two further races have been upgraded to Group 1 status with a third upgraded to Group 2, producing a day that now comprises four Group 1 races, a Group 2 and the Balmoral Handicap, the richest one-mile handicap in Europe.

The overall value of the raceday is over £4.1m, up from £3m in year one of the sponsorship.

In 2015 QIPCO announced a ten-year extension to their sponsorship of British Champions Day ensuring that they remain the title sponsors of the day until 2024.
